Lakeside Bridal Fair (2-28-2010)

So this year I have decided to put a little more fire to my marketing and I completely rebranded Chad Alan Events.  I also decided that I would participate in the first bridal show for Chad Alan Events which is also the first show I’ve done in about 5 or 6 years.  I have been apart of the Lakeside Bridal Fair since the first show so I decided that I would like to be apart of this show. The Lakeside Bridal Fair is held at the beautiful Hilton Bella Harbor on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard

At this show I decided to keep the booth very simple and bring out the newest tool in the audio line up for your wedding ceremony and reception.  That tool would be the Bose L1 sound system.  If you have never heard the Bose system perform then just think of it as a typical Bose speaker on steroids!  And, if you have never heard a Bose speaker then it’s like sitting on stage with the orchestra.  now, my both banner didn’t ship in time for the show so the booth is a little more simple than I wanted but hey, that’s life.  Anyway, here is a photo of the booth and system.

I met with a bunch of brides and had a great time and got to network with some great vendors like my neighbors Chuck Wagon Cuisine Catering Company.  What a great show.

City of Richardson Daddy-Daughter Dance (2-13-2010)

This years Daddy/Daughter dance for the City of Richardson at the Richardson Civic Center would be one no one would ever forget.  Now you might be thinking sure, no one will forget it, but truly this year I guarantee it was since the night before the Dallas metro area recieved over a foot of snow.  Thursday night we brooke the all time snow fall record with 9.8 inches officially at the DFW Airport, but at my house and office we recieved 12.4 inches. 

This picture was taken at 5:00pm at which point 8inches had already fallen.  Friday morning was interesting because we so rarely see snow here that I went to get the trailer of equipment and didn’t even have shovel…which I would have really needed.  I did have to dig the trailer out of the snow bear handed but since I didn’t get to play in the snow it was ok by me.

I left Arlington around 11:00am with plenty of time to take it very slow on the route to the Richardson Civic Center.  This place is such a blank canvas for any event.  Plain white walls and floors without any distracting wall decor makes this place idea for fabulous transformations. If you are looking for a place that will take well to decor lighting and any number of decor treatments then this is a great place.

This year was no different than last year, amzingly dress little girls and proud fathers all ready to let loose and have fun together.  As with last year, I am completely amazed at the level of energy and dance skills that I see in the dance competition.  I can not believe they can dance that good.  We had some laughs as we did a scooter race with a few of the dads and of course we rocked out to the best music all night long.  I am already looking forward to next year’s dance on February the 11th, 2011.

City of Richardson Daddy-Daughter Dance (2-13-2009)

Tonight is a fun night with some great Dads who have taken some great measures to show their treasured daughters a wonderful night out.

I love performing at these events,hiwle also having a small amount of anxiety, seeing as how I recently added a little girl of my own to my amazing family. I have to be a little more careful at these events and even some weddings now otherwise I’ll end a mess covered in tears from my own emotions toward my daughter.

Ok, so have you ever seen 250 little girls play musical chairs? Well I’m watching it happen right now at what fun this is, so many laughs out there from the dads who are trying so hard to keep up with there little girls.

This event is put on by the City of Richardson, and I must say they have done a great job building the evening into a safe and fun environment for these dads and their daughters. I didn’t get the caterers information which is a shame because the food was fantastic! Trust me I will be getting that infomation. But this particular event is well orginized and a must attend for all dads and daughters in the Richardson area…check out their website and stay informed for next year. I will be back to entertain and I hope to see everyone there!

Winnie Carrol’s Sweet 16 (1-21-2009)

Well tonight’s event went late so I didn’t actually get to write about it durring the event, but the party was great.

It was held at the City Club in Fort Worth and was basically a super sweet sixteen party. These guys can really put on a party. A few days before Winnie’s mom Peggy gave me a bag of pictures to create a special slideshow of her daughter through her life which we displayed on a huge projection screen setup between to mirrored columns in the Ballroom. This was a great moment durring the night as the entire room went silent to watch the production.

The party started off with a big bang…literally. Winnie was escorted into the ballrom with a stilt walker juggling LED balls changing color and a fire eater! Yes I said a fire eater! He only was able to perform for a few minutes as the facilty would only allow him to perform for the entrance. But hey what an entrance it made.

Watching all the girls dressed up in their ballgowns and masks for the mascarade party was great. A few of the ladies even had some very ornate painted masks. Needless to say all the glitz and glamour kept the photo booth station running like crazy.

now one of the most interesting thing I have seen in a while was probably the most competitive game of musical chairs ever. I couldn’t believe the how feirce the battle for a chair could get. These girls were serious about winning the games and the prizes. We played a lot of really fun games and had some great laughs with the girls. Then to finish up we packed the dance floor as we rocked out some great music and music videos.

What a great party!

A Helping Hand (12-6-2008)

Tonight I am lending a hand to a fellow entertainer named Shawn Kelly. He is the owner and operator of Platinum Sound.

It is always a treat to ride along and assist other disc jockeys as I find ways to improve myself. It’s like looking in on your own methods and finding or being motivated to new ideas and ways to solve problems. Anything we can do to add to our available tools is a very good thing, especially since the nature of wedding and event production can throw you some very interesting twists.

The client this evening was a lot of fun. During the course of the last several weeks they had a company jingle contest and the winners were announced tonight. In order to select a prize they had to sing their jingle. What a fun contest idea to generate some great entertainment moments and give away some fantastic prizes too.

The Ashton Hotel is a cozy place for a corporate function and small to medium sized wedding. Easy access, easy to find, and friendly staff make this a fabulous location and definitely a location I will be adding to my recommendations.
